LOTT FAMILY HISTORY

THE LOTT FAMILY

The Lott family has a rich history in the United States, tracing its roots back to two brothers, Pieter and Bartel, who immigrated to New Amsterdam in 1652. Since then, the family has grown considerably, and the descendants of Pieter and Bartel have spread across the country.

This page focuses on those who lived in the Lott House, which was built by one of Pieter's grandsons (and second-great-gransdon). Johannes H. Lott and his wife Antje Jorise Rapelje established the Flatlands family beginning with their purchase of the property in 1719. Johannes and Antje’s descendants have played a significant role in shaping our collective history.
